“All About Jaguar Mascots”

By

Tony Bailey, Ian Cooling and Gil Mond

This book is a compendium of articles written by the co-authors and published over the years in the likes of Jaguar World Monthly and Classic Jaguar World. Additional up-dating material has been included. This remains the only book ever published solely devoted to our feline friend

The cover shows the only surviving prototype of Frederick Gordon Crosby’s timeless Jaguar mascot. This has cast-iron provenance from Frederick’s son, who sold it at Brooks’ Goodwood auction in June 1996, when I bought it.

The heart of the book is a six-part series of articles covering the development of the Jaguar mascot from Version 1 to Version 8 as well as the Prince Michael mascot. Other chapters cover Swallow mascots, other uses of Gordon Crosby’s timeless design and the legality of fitting mascots to cars is also discussed.
