Z/406

Couldn’t resist this when it was offered! Jaguar Cars “adopted” HMS Jaguar back in the early 1960s and this is reflected in various places in the book – especially up-front where there is a photo of HRH Princess Alexandra with Sir William and the comment that they both launched Jaguars!

Estimate Price: (e£40-50)

HMS Jaguar was an anti-aircraft Type 41 frigate, no F47. The bulk of the book is given over to the ship’s one-year deployment 1961 – 1962. They set sail from Chatham on 7 September 1961, heading along West Africa to South Africa, including detours to St Helena and Tristan da Cunha as well as Mauritius. Then across the Atlantic to Uruguay, followed by Brazil and back across to the Canaries and Gibraltar, finally docking back at Chatham on 6 September 1962. Phew! The cap tally came with the book. Both Fine.

Signed by Peter, Mike Kimberly (XJ13 project manager) and George Buck who, like Peter, helped build the car. There is a small gimp at the top of the front end-paper – see photo. This looks to be pretty easily fixable and the book is otherwise Mint.
